SALT glass studios - Glass and Print Studio – Norfolk
Exploring the boundaries between glass and print languages, SALT creates sculptural installations and commissions to a range of contemporary pieces using traditional processes from kiln cast, free blown to screen-printing. SALT’s work is exhibited widely in galleries and exhibitions in the UK and internationally. Recently SALT’s work’ Ebb’ was highly commended by the judge Dan Klein Associates, a world-authority on contemporary glass at the Warm Glass Art Price 2013. For updates on exhibitions see the Blog. Drawing from design and fine art backgrounds respectively, Max and Fiona have twenty years experience working with leading glass and art organisations on national and international projects, commissions and residencies and exhibited widely with selected work in private and public collections. Max and Fiona also have extensive teaching experience, running courses and workshops for beginners to post graduate level working with leading museums, art galleries and organisations in the UK, Caribbean and South America. SALT was officially opened by Louis Thompson, the UK’s leading Glass Artist and 2012 Awardee of the reputed Jerwood Foundation ‘Makers Open Prize’ and ‘Best in Show’ at the British Glass Biennale. North Norfolk Living Students glassmaking SALT run a unique year round course programme in glass and printmaking onto glass for all levels and ages at the studio in Norfolk taught by experienced tutors Max and Fiona. Courses are designed to be informal and comprehensive, covering a range of techniques for beginners to experienced artists alike in pursuing their creative potential.
