This course is an excellent introduction into mould making and kiln casting techniques and developing new glass sculptural forms and ideas.
Creating cast glass forms, this course teaches students the principles of model making and casting. Suitable for beginners and the more experienced, this comprehensive focuses on the exciting potential of clay to plaster mould making to create cast glass pieces fired in the kiln. The first part of the course covers working on modelling clay using various materials to provide forms and textures. The course then moves on to explore plaster mould making techniques and casting a final plaster quartz mould which will be fill with glass ready to fire in the kiln.
