This one day course offers students a comprehensive introduction into screen printing onto glass. Demonstration cover selecting suitable imagery, coating a screen with photosensitive emulsion, screen-printing techniques, suitable enamels to kiln firing cycles.

Explore the exciting potential of screen printing onto glass, students will learn screen-printing techniques onto glass and hand on experience of prepare and use enamels ready for kiln firing.

By the end of the course students will have created several unique glass printed pieces and gain a good  understanding of screen-printing onto glass and details of the types of equipment and materials required.

Aimed for both beginners and those who already have access to kilns and want to learn how to screen-print onto glass using different types of imagery. No experience required. Continuing students are welcome.

Depending of firing cycles, students can collect glass work after it has cooled down the following day in the kiln or alternatively arrange for P&P.

Two Day Screen Printing onto Glass: Introduction Course

A comprehensive introduction course offering students hands on experience using students own imagery and screen printing directly onto float glass with enamels. No experience required. Continuing students are welcome.

The course provides a comprehensive introduction in screen-printed images onto glass using glass – ceramic enamels.

Demonstrations cover selecting suitable imagery, coating a screen with photosensitive emulsion, printing onto glass using suitable enamels  to kiln firing cycles.

Students will use their own images and screen print with several printed colour enamels and layers of glass to create complex imagery formation ready for kiln firing.

By the end of the course each student will produce several unique glass printed pieces and gain a good understanding of screen-printing onto glass and details of the types of equipment and materials required will be outlined along with suppliers.

How to prepare: Students can use their own images such as line drawings, photographic or old engravings. On booking the course students will be provided with further details by email on the appropriate type of images and format to consider and provide for this course.
