Course Bookings

Enrolment: Courses booking payments are due in full and booking payments confirms students have read and agreed to the Terms & Conditions.

Course Cancellation

Once a booking has been made your enrolment is binding. Cancellations 4 weeks before the course are 100% refundable or alternative class offered. Students may request a transfer to another course 4 weeks before the course. Cancellations after 4 weeks from the course are not refundable and an alternative course may be offered at the discretion of SALT glass studios. Any student who fails to arrive on time or not follow booking instructions will not receive a refund. Cancellations must be made in writing to SALT glass studios.  SALT will not refund the cost of any accommodation or travel that you may have booked.

Postponement: SALT reserves the right to postpone, or cancel the date of courses should it become necessary and for whatever reason. Students will be notified as soon as possible and alternative courses and dates offered or a transfer to another course, depending on availability. If these are not suitable fees paid will be refunded in vouchers. SALT will not refund the cost of any accommodation or travel that you may have booked.

Course admission

SALT glass studios reserve the right not to provide and refuse admission to anyone with no reason given and fees paid will be transferred for another course or refunded.

Course location

Booking Availability

Courses run throughout the year. Course bookings are subject to availability and may alter. The booking time normally run to time but may be subject to change due to the hand-made glass-making processes which may run slighter over. Once a course is booked we recommend you arrive on the hour to watch a demo or at least arrive 5 minutes before the booking start time. If you have placed an order prior to contacting SALT glass to book a course date please note course bookings are subject to availability. Please note booking course requires advanced enquiries for example short courses requires at least 2 -3 weeks and longer courses require at least 4-6 weeks advance booking enquiries

Online Pre-Booked Courses

Orders made online will receive an automatic email order notification and booking confirmation, subject to payment.

Gift A Course Order Booking Enquiries

Must be made by email and outline the course type, number of students and date and time the customer wishes to book. SALT glass endeavour to reply asap and within seven working days.

General Course Bookings Enquiries

Glass Course Age Restriction

Short Glass-making Courses may be attended by ages five years and above. Three hour or longer Glass  courses may only be attended by ages twelve years old and above.

Course Bookings Enquiries 

All booking enquires must be make by email to ensure verification and data protection procedures. Please do not phone or enquire by social media. Please email SALT glass either at info@saltglassstudios.co.uk or on the website contact page www.saltglassstudios.co.uk/contact. SALT glass endeavours to reply asap and within seven working days with course availability and payment options.

Email Correspondence

We aim to reply to emails as soon as possible and within seven working days. If you have emailed SALT glass and not received a reply, then your email has filtered into spam. Please email again with the order number in the subject heading. Please email at info@saltglassstudios.co.uk.

Refreshments

All students should bring their own drinking water and refreshments. Water is accessible at the studio. Students attending one or two day courses can bring a pack lunch or visit  local pubs, cafés and Delis.

Glass Courses Work – Collection or Prepaid Post

Students glass pieces will require cooling down overnight the kiln or lehr. Students can collect work on a date as advised by the studio which is normally the following afternoon or week. Students will be given instructions and security code for the collection box. Alternatively, SALT can arrange prepaid post for an additional charge via Royal Mail at their own risk. P&P must be paid in advance and prices depend on weight, size and location.

Photography: SALT photograph courses for education and media use. By booking a course students are agreeing to the T&C and SALT can use photographs for media use.

Gift Vouchers

The customer can download from the website the Voucher and gift directly to the recipient by email or printed. The recipient must redeemed the voucher by email referencing the order number. The recipient can browse SALT’s online Gallery or Courses or visit the studio to redeem the voucher.Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Glass Courses Copyright IPR: SALT glass studios are copyright owners of course design and structure. Glass Courses must not be used or appropriated for sale at any future date. The skills learnt on the course cannot be taught on another course for payment at any future date. The subject matter of the courses are confidential and attendees cannot teach or sell off the techniques or information to a third party at any future date. SALT have the right do not provide any glass courses for sole traders, companies, businesses or course providers.

Hand Made Glass: SALT glass studios art glass collections and commissions are made by hand and due to the nature of the craft involved variations will occur in size, shape, colour and pattern. SALT glass studios do not consider occasional bubbles in the glass as flaws, nor possible small marks from print or glass making processes, which are part of the unique quality of the hand made glass pieces. Completed Glass work should be handles with care see Glass Handle advice below. Images and sizes provided are for guidance only but will be adhered to as closely as possible.

Gallery Website Photographs: The photographs on SALT glass studios’ Gallery website are a selection and representative of SALT glass collection range and due to the unique qualities of the traditional handmade glass and print processes each glass-print work from SALT’s Gallery Collections will be an original and will vary. Images and sizes provided are for guidance only but will be adhered to as closely as possible.

Cancellation of Order

Once an ordered has been made this is binding. Cancellations with 24 hours of purchase are 100% refundable or alternative item can be offered. Cancellations after 24 hours are not refundable and an alternative items will be offered for the same value.

Copyright

SALT glass have Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights of glass art work, photographs, website design and written course materials which are prohibited for reproduction, display or distribution without permission.

Insurance

SALT glass studios is insured to provide courses and Health and Safety instruction will be demonstrated and stressed throughout the course attended.

Large order of Glass Collection and Website Gallery

SALT’s glass studio’s gallery order over 20 or large scale collections pieces are made to order and may take up to six weeks to arrive. If you need the glass work urgently please contact SALT glass and every effort will be made to satisfy order requirements.

Returns, Exchanges and Refunds

SALT are happy for you to return items from SALT Glass Collections that do not meet your expectations, if returned to SALT glass in perfect condition and within 14 working days of purchase-receipt. SALT request the return of an item is made by a delivery service that requires a signature. Once SALT have received the item (in the condition in which they were sent) we can either offer you an alternative work or a full refund of the value of the work (excluding packing and shipping).

Glass Handling

Hand made glass art is fragile and should be handled with care. Glass expands and contracts with temperature, so to prevent thermal cracking or breaking, avoid rapid temperature changes. Never heat glass artwork with an oven, microwave, hotplate, etc., and do not place glass artwork in a refrigerator or freezer or dishwasher. Clean glass with glass cleaner.

Postage and Packaging

Commission and Design Work Prices vary depending on size, volume and packing type required for fragile glass works. Eg. Glass-print pieces range from 100 grams to 10 kg. Commission and Design Work are delivered either via Royal Mail or a Courier and subject to individual shipment weight and requirements arranged in advance with clients.

Gallery orders from this website will not include postage cost which will be determined by the order weight and invoiced to customers with payment options by secure Chip and Pin or BACS.

SALT glass orders are posted via Royal Mail First Class Signed For delivery.

Average Weight

Glass-print pieces range from 100 grams to 2 kg.

£8 – £10 :     Orders of one item or multiple items under 2 kg.
£11 – £15:      Orders from 2kg weight.
£16 – £20 +:    Orders from 4-6 kg.

SALT glass studios provide multidisciplinary commission services working closely with clients to realise a specific project for artists, designers, architects and range of clients from industrial product design, prototypes, events to art gallery installations. SALT glass has twenty years experience working with leading commercial glass studios, art organisations and range of clients including Thomas Heatherwick , Welcome Trust, Alexander McQueen, Gold Star, O2, Horniman Museum, National Art Gallery (Guyana), Raymond Blanc, PAI Group , Tony Conigliaro, Drinking Factory, Gin Garden. PNW Architects, Holkham Hall, Johnny Roxburgh Design Ltd, Star Light Design.

Commissions Process

SALT glass studios provide commission services from concept, design, prototyping to completed hand-made glass-print work and installations and communicate closely with clients at each stage of the commissioning process.

Commissions

 Depending of complexity and scale of commissions SALT require a deposit payment from client.

Time frames/Lead Time

SALT glass normally require at least four to eight weeks to complete small scale commissions and large scale commissions are subject to agreed lead-times. Due to any unexpected technical or SALT glass employees health issues, commission may take longer to complete and clients will be updated accordingly.
